Landscape Operations Manager


The Landscape Construction Operations Manager oversees the field operations of the construction division by effectively communicating with all departments, managing budgeting and billing, and monitoring crew efficiency to ensure profitability and growth organizational functions.


  • Supervise a team of Project Managers to ensure customer expectations and job schedules are met
  • Ensure the department is managing jobs to the labor and materials budgets provided in each estimate
  • Allocate manpower and equipment resources to Foremen
  • Maximize fleet usage and minimize rental equipment costs
  • Complete field reports daily to document current site conditions and work completed
  • Review all client billings with the Department head by the due dates assigned each month
  • Conduct weekly production meetings and address challenges
  • Communicate status of jobs and billing with the Department head
  • Provide feedback to the Estimators on the accuracy of direct cost estimates
  • Ensure new employee on-boarding and employee evaluations are conducted per policy and on time
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are communicated and followed
  • Exceed each customer’s expectation for quality, workmanship, and service
  • Approve all subcontract agreements prior to commencing work
  • Build relationships with subcontractors and ensure that they are managed effectively


  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing a multi-million dollar portfolio of new commercial landscaping installations
  • Extensive knowledge of contracting, in general, and landscape installation OR construction site work
  • Experience with General Contractors’ processes of completing landscape projects (i.e. AIA Billing, Liens and Releases, Close Out Documents, Certified Payroll, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of plant material and best horticultural practices
  • Ability to establish productivity benchmarks and motivate employees to achieve goals
  • Ability to interpret and utilize accounting and financial reports
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, G Suite
